Islanders shore up depth with Liam Foudy, Julien Gauthier signings after strong NHL draft
NY Post
After a strong showing at the 2025 NHL Draft this weekend, the Islanders padded their organizational depth with a couple of deals.
Both restricted free agent Liam Foudy and unrestricted free agent Julien Gauthier signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Isles on Sunday, the team announced.
The two forwards will likely end up playing for the team’s AHL affiliate, the Bridgeport Islanders, next season.
Foudy, who came to the Islanders as a free agent from the Predators last July, posted 20 goals and 25 assists in 70 games for Bridgeport last season.
An 18th-overall pick by the Blue Jackets in 2018, Foudy appeared in two games for the Islanders last season, as well.
Gauthier, a former Ranger, signed for $775,000 at the NHL level, per PuckPedia.

SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.
