Islamic State-allied jihadists killed 49 Christians, including nine children, in a church massacre in the Democratic Republic of Congo's Komanda village on Sunday as they were at prayer.

There’s an ongoing swathe of killings of Christians across Nigeria and the DRC - reportedly more than 4,000 in Nigeria in approximately the last year. Nine of those who were decapitated in Sunday’s DRC attack were children. Several other children, the number isn’t clear, were abducted. The attackers were members of the Islamist Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), a sanctioned rebel group with roots in Uganda.
