Revised IPL schedule announced, Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals replayed in Jaipur on May 24 amid border tensions.
Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals will replay each other on May 24 in Jaipur as the Indian Premier League (IPL) will stage the remaining 17 matches from May 17 to June 3. The IPL was suspended last week due to the mounting tension on the border of India and Pakistan.
The fate of the Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was hanging in the air after the game abruptly ended due to a security alarm in Dharamshala on May 7. With the authorities ordering a blackout in Dharamshala – close to the border – the stadium was evacuated, followed by the IPL suspension the next morning.
However, the revised schedule, announced late on Monday (May 12, 2025) night, specified that the game will be played in Jaipur on May 24. While the Punjab Kings, who had gotten off to a blitzkrieg start, had asked for continuation of the match, the IPL authorities deemed fit for the full match to be replayed, considering a change in venue.
Meanwhile, the remaining 13 league games will be played at six different locations, with Chennai and Hyderabad missing from the list. The venues for the Playoffs will be confirmed later.
The schedule:
May 17, 7.30 p.m.: Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Kolkata Knight Riders (Bengaluru)
May 18, 3.30 p.m.: Rajasthan Royals vs Punjab Kings (Jaipur)
