IPL 2022: PBKS vs CSK, Chennai Super Kings captain Ravindra Jadeja blamed the loss of too many wickets in the powerplay in the loss against Punjab Kings, which was their third loss in a row as the former champions failed to put their first set of points on the board.

Chennai Super Kings captain Ravindra Jadeja blamed the loss of too many wickets during the power play for his team's 54-run defeat at the hands of Punjab Kings in Mumbai on Sunday. CSK have lost their third game in a row in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022).

Defending champions CSK opted to bowl after winning the toss (their first this season) as Punjab Kings posted a total of 180 which the men in yellow failed to achieve as they were bowled out for just 126.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, who’s not having the best of starts in this year’s IPL, and hitter Robin Uthappa got dismissed early. Moeen Ali got ducked, while Ambati Rayudu also suffered an early exit. With captain Jadeja also out, Chennai were 36/5 in 7.3 overs.

“We lost too many wickets in the power play, we didn’t find the momentum from ball one, so we need to find a way how we can get better and come back stronger," Jadeja said in the post-match presentation ceremony.

Ravindra Jadeja said that he trusts Ruturaj Gaikwad to come back stronger, and that the team is behind him. He just scored one run in this match.

“No, we need to you know give him a good confidence, we need to back him. We all know that he’s a very good player. So we will definitely going to back him, and I’m sure he will come good.”
