Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) chief mentor David Hussey said that Venkatesh Iyer is a clone of former New Zealand skipper and current Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming after the team's win in Qualifier 2 on Wednesday.
Kolkata Knight Riders chief mentor David Hussey lauded Venkatesh Iyer after his superb match-winning knock against Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 2, saying that the young all-rounder is a clone for former New Zealand captain and current CSK coach Stephen Fleming, We never get over this duo @ivenkyiyer2512 @ShubmanGill #KKR #KKRvDC #AmiKKR #KorboLorboJeetbo #KKR #IPL2021 pic.twitter.com/GQk4SUDVM9
Hussey said that Iyer's batting changed the tempo of Qualifier 2 and brought KKR into a winning position against Delhi Capitals on a tricky Sharjah surface. Iyer hit his third fifty of the season and top-scored with 55 off 41 balls to help KKR beat Delhi Capitals by 3 wickets and reach the final where they will meet the Chennai Super Kings on October 15.
