INS Talwar reached New Mangalore in Karnataka from Bahrain, carrying 54 tonnes of liquid oxygen.
Indian Naval Ship Talwar, carrying 54 tonnes of liquid oxygen, reached New Mangalore in Karnataka on Wednesday from Bahrain. This is part of the Indian Navy’s Operation ‘Samudra Setu-II’ to bring oxygen-filled cryogenic containers to India from abroad as the country faces a severe shortage of medical oxygen in the wake of a massive surge in Covid-19 cases. This is the first of the nine ships deployed by Indian Navy to reach India. The ship will provide liquid oxygen to Karnataka where hospitals are facing an acute shortage of medical oxygen.
