Indraneil Sengupta opens up on rumours of troubled marriage with Barkha Bisht | Exclusive

There have been rumours of trouble in Aranyak actor Indraneil Sengupta and Barkha Bisht's marriage. In an exclusive interaction with IndiaToday.in, Indraneil shared if such gossips about his personal life affects him.

Starring in two back-to-back OTT shows and standing out in both ain’t no easy task. That’s where Indraneil Sengupta’s name comes in. Indraneil is currently basking in the success of his recently-released OTT shows, Aranyak and Human, and his performance in both is garnering love from all quarters. However, one thing that Indraneil can’t escape is people’s curiosity about his personal life. Of late, rumours were rife that not everything was well in his marriage with actress Barkha Bisht. In an exclusive interaction with IndiaToday.in, the actor shared if conversations around his personal life affect him and how he deals with it.

Indraneil Sengupta got married to actress Barkha Bisht on March 1, 2008. However, speculations of possible trouble in their marriage have been doing the rounds for a while now. Speaking to IndiaToday.in, Indraneil shared if rumours about his personal life affect him. He said, “No, actually I’ll tell you what. The basic problem with the constant involvement of people in your life is something which happens because celebrities let that happen. I have never let that happen, honestly. Personally, I can talk about myself only. I try and religiously follow that my work is for public consumption, my private life is not. My life is not for public consumption.”

Indraneil feels that just because he is a celebrity, people don’t have the right to participate in his private life. “I am a public figure so I understand that people have all the right to watch me, all the right to speculate about me. However, they don’t have any right to participate in my life and I am not going to let that happen." Indraneil shared that if people question him, he can't be made to answer. "So I do not answer. How much does it take to ignore or delete a comment or block a person? It’s a matter of a few seconds. And I do that. If people really feel that it’s bothersome, let me say that it's not. You can block anyone. You can block off your comments if you are not happy with the comments of people," shared the actor.

Indraneil further added, “My survival doesn’t depend on them or those comments, they don’t. It depends on my work. If they like my work, I am happy about it. If they don’t like my work or if people start saying that 'Indraneil is a very bad actor', that will bother me." He concluded by saying, “That’s my private life. I do not think that anyone has any right and if they do not know their rights and if they question, then I just ignore. I will not even give a second thought about it. It’s to be ignored, that’s it.”
