Former IAS AK Sharma has said that the Indian Army will procure shoes for jawans from Agra in the future.
Former IAS AK Sharma, who was working in the Prime Minister's Office earlier, has assured the Agra shoe industry, which is going through a very difficult phase, that the bad times of the industry are over.
Addressing a public meeting in Narhauli village of Agra, Sharma said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a decision not to buy the shoes, sunglasses, and belts of army personnel from foreign countries in the future. The Prime Minister has said that now the procurement of army shoes and belts will be done from Agra because Agra is the main center of shoe manufacturing in the country. The vision of the Prime Minister is to make most of the equipment for military consumption in the country itself.
