Ajinkya Rahane, who is Virat Kohli's deputy in red-ball cricket, will lead India in the first of the two-Test series against New Zealand later this month.
Vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane will lead the Indian team in the opening Test of the two-match series against New Zealand in Virat Kohli’s absence. The first Test between India and New Zealand starts on November 25 at the Greenpark Stadium in Kanpur.
Kohli is all set to take a long break starting soon and will also miss the upcoming first Test against New Zealand. However, Kohli will return for the second Test match at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai and resume the captaincy in the longest format.
