India Sent Mehul Choksi Deportation Documents To Dominica: Antigua PM

A court in Dominica has put his deportation on hold after his lawyers claimed that he cannot be sent to India as he is no longer a citizen of the country.

India has sent the deportation documents for Mehul Choksi, the diamond merchant wanted for the PNB loan scam, Antigua Prime Minister Gaston Browne has said. Mehul Choksi is currently in Dominica, where he was caught while trying to flee from Antigua to Cuba. A local court has put his deportation on hold after his lawyers claimed that he cannot be sent to India as he is no longer a citizen of the country. Mehul Choksi has been living in Antigua since 2018 after obtaining citizenship. Asked about a private jet that arrived in Dominica with a stopover in Delhi on May 28, the Antiguan PM today confirmed it to the local media.
