India sees 35,871 new Covid-19 cases in a day, highest daily spike in 2021

India registered 35,871 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours. This is the highest single-day infection count so far in 2021.

Registering an increase of more than 20,000 cases for the eighth day in a row, the total active caseload rose to 2.5 lakh, as per the ministry’s data.
