The new India-bound Citroen CC21 compact SUV will be the first car to be launched under the French carmakers' C-Cubed program for the country.
We earlier reported in March 2021, that Citroen is preparing its second product for the Indian market. Now, the company teased its upcoming sub-compact SUV for India and South America, codenamed internally Citroen CC21, is set for a global debut on September 16, 2021. The new India-bound Citroen CC21 will be the first car to be launched under the French carmakers' C-Cubed program for the country. The new Citroen CC21 SUV is also the first of three new cars planned for the country in the next few years.
Under the program, the new Citroen CC21 compact SUV will be designed and developed in India itself, and will be based on Groupe PSA’s Common Modular Platform (CMP), unlike the PSA EMP2 platform that underpins its sibling, the Citroen C5 Aircross. The new Citroen CC21 compact SUV will likely be a petrol-only model and is expected to be offered with both naturally-aspirated and turbocharged powertrains. While the naturally-aspirated petrol engine will likely only be offered with a manual transmission, the turbo-petrol powertrain is expected to get both manual and automatic gearbox options.
