Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani was killed in an encounter by security forces in July 2016 in South Kashmir. His encounter had triggered a massive five-month summer agitation in Kashmir that leftover 100 people dead and thousands injured.
Srinagar: Muzaffar Wani, the father of slain Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani, hoisted the national flag at a school in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district as part of Independence Day celebrations on Sunday. Muzaffar Wani, who is a teacher by profession, unfurled the national flag on the premises of the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Tral. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday inaugurated the CM Shri School at Sarojini Nagar. The foundation stones for 75 CM Shri School projects across the Capital were also laid. This initiative of the Delhi Government has been launched in accordance with the National Education Policy to provide modern, technology-integrated and improved education.

India and France have inaugurated a final assembly line for Airbus H125 helicopters at Vemagal, Karnataka, in a joint venture between Tata Advanced Systems and Airbus.
