Qatar’s Hamad al-Sahouti of Leopard Impala team finished an impressive 16th in Race 1 of the European Talent Cup at Circuito De Jerez near Seville, Spain, on Sunday. The Qatari rider finished the seven-lap race in 13:04.459secs with a best lap time of 1:49.692secs with a top speed of 145kmph. Spain’s Maximo Martinez topped the race in 12:44.811secs. Al-Sahouti had finished 10th in the qualifying practice. Given Hamad al-Sahouti’s good show, the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) is keen on extending his run at the European talent Cup, according to QMMF’s Executive Director Amro al-Hamad. “This was supposed to be the final round for Hamad in the European Talent Cup but he would continue in the Asian Talent Cup. While the rounds of the European Talent Cup in Thailand, Malaysia and Japan have been cancelled due to the coronavirus situation, Hamad will take part in the Valencia round in Spain in September,” said Amro al-Hamad.
