IMD issues red alert for Uttarakhand, very heavy rain predicted over next 10 hours

Predicting very heavy rainfall over the next 10-12 hours, the IMD has advised residents of Dehradun and other cities in Uttarakhand to remain alert.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Dehradun. As per the weather department, the state capital of Uttarakhand is expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next 10-12 hours. The red alert also signifies 'warning' and is meant to direct authorities to 'take action' to prevent or deal with any eventualities.
