Evanston reparations program announced $25,000 payments to 44 Black residents as part of the nation's first municipal reparations plan.

Evanston was the first city in the nation to pass a reparations plan, pledging $10 million over a decade to Black residents. Joshua focuses on politics, education policy ranging from the local to the federal level, and the parental uprising in education.
The payments are intended to cover housing expenses, Evanston official Cynthia Vargas told the Chicago Tribune.
