I want my miserable mom to have an affair — it’s my Mother’s Day gift to her
NY Post
A sympathetic daughter wants to give her mom an unorthodox Mother’s Day gift, but some are calling it “evil.”
Rather than a nice card, chocolates, flowers or breakfast in bed, one Reddit user is considering getting her mom an affair.
The poster wrote in the sub-Reddit group r/marriageadvice that her mom is “miserable” in her marriage and she believes it’s because of her dad.
“They barely speak to each other, he always sits in front of the TV and never lets her watch what she wants to. She goes to the effort of cooking him dinner and he barely even eats it, doesn’t thank her,” the woman explained.
“They’ve lost all affection, she told me he doesn’t even give her a kiss before bed. I can’t remember the last time they went out for dinner or on a date or something. I think they’ve got all hung up on their small little annoyances and don’t appreciate each other anymore, but they used to be so good together.”
She continued to say that her mom is “fun and sociable,” but her dad and the marriage in general is “an absolute drain on her.”

The killing of Iran’s tyrannical Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on Saturday in an unprecedented joint military attack by the US and Israel called Operation Epic Fury set off widespread celebrations from Iranians around the world — as President Trump said it would give them their “greatest chance” to “take back the country.” Meanwhile, in Iran, a lack of internet has made it impossible for Iranians to easily communicate daily conditions. Over a period of three days, with limited VPN connection, an eyewitness currently in Tehran — who, for her safety, is concealing her identity — shared her account of life under a country in the midst of battle with The Post’s Natasha Pearlman.
