I don't feel at risk at all: Massimiliano Allegri does not fear Juventus sack

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri insists he does not fear getting sacked after his side suffered losses in their opening two fixtures in the UEFA Champions League. Juventus currently sit eight in Serie A and will face bottom-placed Monza next.

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has said that he doesn't feel his job is in danger after the Italian side suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of SL Benfica in the UEFA Champions League. The Italian manager remains confident of his position at the Turin-based club despite losing their opening two games in the Champions League for the first time.

"I don't feel at risk at all. These moments are part of football. It's the first time we have lost two games in a row in the Champions League. At 2-1, the game was over. They could have made it 3-1 or 4-1. We could also have drawn but it was a performance below expectations," Allegri told Prime Video after the game.

Despite starting the game well and taking an early lead through a 4th-minute Arkadiusz Milik goal, the Old Lady conceded goals from Joao Mario and David Neres to hand the win to Benfica. The Bianconeri fans were clearly unhappy and voiced their displeasure at the final whistle by loudly booing their team, who went over to apologise to the supporters.

Juventus currently sit eighth in Serie A and have endured a difficult start to the season. Allegri's men have won just two of their opening six league games, leaving them four points off leaders Napoli. With underwhelming performances both in the Serie A and the Champions League, the pressure on Allegri is mounting with some fans calling for the Italian to be sacked.

Allegri has admitted that things need to change, but has also attributed some of the blame for his side's disappointing start to the season on having a depleted squad.

"We need to work hard and change the situation - also, we have many important players injured," Allegri added.

The 36-time Italian champions will now travel to the Brianteo Stadium to face bottom-placed Monza for their next league match.
