Electric vehicles are the next big thing for two major industries - automobile as well as technology. Earlier, we mentioned how technology majors, often known for their smartphones and other consumer tech products, are planning to produce electric vehicles. Simultaneously, automobile companies are also trying to transition to a completely electric drivetrain for their future vehicles. Hyundai is the most recent example.
As noted by Electrek in a recent report, sources cited by Korea Economic Daily claim that Hyundai has shut down the internal combustion engine unit within its research and development center. The news was shared with the 1200 employees in the team through an email by Hyundai’s new R&D chief, Park Chung-kook.
