
Hyderabad police step up watch ahead of Bakrid

Hyderabad Police increase security measures for Bakrid, conducting surprise inspections and urging public cooperation for peaceful celebrations.
With Bakrid set to be celebrated on Saturday, Hyderabad Police have tightened security measures across the city, setting up multiple check posts and ramping up surveillance to ensure the festival passes off peacefully.
On Friday, Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand carried out surprise inspections at key checkposts including Goshala Jiaguda, MJ Bridge, Hasannagar, and Bandlaguda. During his visits, he interacted with officers and ground personnel to assess the preparedness and flow of operations.
Instructions were issued on the spot, with the Commissioner emphasising the importance of maintaining a peaceful atmosphere throughout the festival. Officers were told to remain alert and ensure that the general public does not face any disruption or inconvenience.
Commissioner Anand also urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement and assist in keeping the city safe during the celebrations. Police officials said the heightened checks will continue until the festival ends.
