Hyderabad likely to witness heavy rainfall today; IMD issues yellow alert

Parts of Telangana received heavy rainfall on Wednesday night. The IMD has issued a yellow alert in Hyderabad as isolated parts of the city are expected to receive heavy rainfall until Saturday, July 9. More rain is expected in multiple parts of the state today.
As the monsoon intensified across Telangana, various parts of the state received rainfall on Wednesday night, July 6. More rain is predicted across the state today and is expected to continue till Saturday, July 9. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad has issued a yellow alert as isolated places in the city are likely to receive heavy rainfall today.
"In the last 24 hours, Telangana has received good rainfall; while Nagarkunool received rainfall of 16 centimetres (cms), some of the districts have received 9cms of rainfall. The temperature in the state also went from 30 to 32 degrees Celcius in the past 24 hours," Sravani, a scientist in the Metrological Centre Hyderabad told news agency ANI.
According to IMD’s prediction, the temperature in the city is expected to be normal. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Hyderabad are likely to be around 32-33 and 22-24 degrees Celsius respectively.
Hyderabad is expected to witness cloudy mornings with light to moderate rainfall in the evenings on Thursday and Friday. The Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) forecasted light to moderate rainfall at multiple places in the city till Saturday, July 9.
Other districts in Telangana which are likely to witness heavy rainfall on Thursday, July 7, include Kothagudem, Jangaon, Jayashankar Bhupala palle, Jogulamba Gadwal, Kamareddy, Khammam, Mahabubabad, MahabubNagar, Medak, Mulugu, Nagarkurnool and Nalgonda.
