A man who coordinated a trip to smuggle two dozen illegal migrants into the U.S. was sentenced 15 years. The trip resulted in 13 deaths when the vehicle crashed on a California highway.
Cruz Noguez also admitted to trying to still get payment for the smuggling trip from the survivors, prosecutors said. Neither Cruz Noguez nor his attorney could be reached for comment.
