Republicans flipped multiple House seats in New York on Election Day. Now, two winners are speaking out about why they won, and lessons for the GOP and Donald Trump.
In New York, Republicans flipped four House seats. The GOP also clasped all four seats in Long Island —including Rep. Lee Zeldin’s vacated seat in New York’s 1st district, where LaLota beat the Democrat by double digits. Zeldin put up a fight in the governor's race against incumbent Gov. Kathy Hochul, though Hochul ultimately did win her election. Lacey Christ is a producer with "Fox News @ Night."
"There is one single biggest factor, the common denominator, and that is Lee Zeldin, gubernatorial candidacy, and that he energized a lot of suburban upstate New York voters," said LaLota.
"The reality is, I think that what we're experiencing in New York state, to take an example, is for the first time in five decades, we're under one party rule in New York City, in Albany and in Washington, D.C.," Rep.-elect George Santos, R-N.Y., told Fox News. "The people of New York have no one to blame but Democrats."
