House CCP panel probes Pentagon over 'woefully inadequate' sealift program needed for wartime
Fox News
FIRST ON FOX: The House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party said it is investigating the U.S. military's deteriorating sealift program needed for war in China.
"While China has undertaken a historic buildup of both military and commercial ships, the United States’ sealift fleet has continued to age and go underfunded, appearing woefully inadequate for the daunting task of providing logistical support to troops thousands of miles away from the homeland," Gallagher wrote to Van Ovost and Phillips. Thomas Catenacci is a politics writer for Fox News Digital.
"As described by an unnamed senior official responsible for American sealift capability, the situation is a ‘screaming national security vulnerability,’" he continued. "Now, in the middle of a new Cold War, the United States finds itself with neither the sufficient military nor civil resources to meet our sealift objective."
