"Hope Droupadi Murmu Functions Without Fear Or Favour": Yashwant Sinha

"I join my fellow citizens in congratulating Droupadi Murmu on her victory in the Presidential election 2022," Yashwant Sinha tweeted

Yashwant Sinha, who ran for President as the opposition's joint candidate, congratulated India's new President Draupadi Murmu after the results came out this evening.

"I join my fellow citizens in congratulating Droupadi Murmu on her victory in the Presidential election 2022. India hopes that as the 15th President of the Republic, she functions as the custodian of the Constitution without fear or favour," Mr Sinha tweeted.

Draupadi Murmu is India's first tribal President. Nominated by the National Democratic Alliance, or NDA, she scored over 50 per cent of the total vote value after three rounds of counting.
