Fox News
The Department of Homeland Security's Science and Technology Directorate has developed a new portable gunshot detection system with a Massachusetts company.
The new system is reportedly an enhancement to the commercial, off-the-shelf Guardian Indoor Active Shooter Detection System. Julia Musto is a reporter for Fox News and Fox Business Digital.
The department said SDS Outdoor uses both the sound and flash of the gunshot to detect and validate each gunshot, in order to drastically reduce false positives.
