His son is in dire need of a stem cell donor. It's turned this dad into a viral star.

Juan Uribe's 15-year-old son Max needs a perfect stem cell donor match. His story went viral on social media, but the search isn't over.
Most people download TikTok for fun. For Juan Uribe, it was a decision made out of desperation − and love.
"I'm posting this because I need your help to save my son," Uribe said in his first-ever video, posted on Feb. 10. "This is my first time posting on social media so please bear with me if I don't get things quite right."
His son Max, 15, is dealing with a rare blood disorder that may soon turn into a deadly blood cancer if he doesn’t find a stem cell transplant donor.
With Max’s complex genetic makeup − half-Colombian from his dad and a mix of Italian, British and German from his mom − finding a perfect match has been challenging. Minorities are underrepresented in national stem cell registries.
The NMDP, a nonprofit that focuses on helping patients with blood cancers and disorders, says available donors differ greatly depending on the patient's ethnic background.
