The closure began around 6 a.m., the Ontario Ministry of Transportation said on the traveller information website.
No word on how many vehicles are involved, if there are any injuries or when the estimated reopening time is.

Last week, a 23-year-old commercial driver from Edmonton and the company he worked for were charged in a fatal crash that killed a northern Ontario man in November on that same stretch of highway.
