(CNN) — Remains of a complex of "high-status" Roman buildings have been uncovered during construction work on a new housing development in northern England. The rare remains were discovered in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, according to a statement from Historic England, a public body that looks after the country's historic environment, published Thursday. Archeologists were drafted in to work on the project because Iron Age and Roman remains had been found at the site, but the findings "were far more significant than anticipated," said Historic England.More Related News
