In his letter to the PM, Jharkhan CM Hemant Soren wrote, “I would like to draw your kind attention towards the plight of students who have returned from Ukraine.”

“Russian Invasion of Ukraine suddenly interrupted their studies and it was only due to your intervention that they could be rescued back home safely,” he added.

“More than 180 such students have returned to Jharkhand. I convey my very sincere gratitude to you for your efforts ensuring evacuation of Indian students trapped in war-affected Ukraine,” said the state CM while expressing his gratitude.

The Jharkhand CM went on to remark, “You may be aware that a large number of students pursuing higher studies in educational institutions of Ukraine were enrolled in courses of medical education. Many of them have already completed 1", 2 etc. years of their course curriculum.”
