Heavy rain has been lashing Kerala since the early hours of October 16, causing waterlogging in low-lying areas of many districts.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has put 11 Kerala districts on orange alert for isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall (11.5 cm to 20.4 cm in 24 hours) today. Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram and Kozhikode are on orange alert.
Wayanad and Kannur are on yellow alert for isolated heavy rainfall.
