While putting up clarification on issuing instructions to suspend 372 Investigating Officers in one go Mr Vij said, "For a long time, I have been saying to the officers to finalise the disposal of prolonged cases. In May, the department gave us information that there are nearly 3,229 cases in which final disposal has not been done for more than one year. People are going from one place to another, and cases are not getting disposed of. We called the officers, and 372 officers did not give a satisfactory explanation. I have issued an order to immediately suspend 372 Io's," said Mr Vij.
