Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin reiterated his praise for the verdict in the Pollachi sexual assault case during an interaction with reporters after his morning walk at the HADP Ground in Udhagamandalam on Wednesday (May 14, 2025).
Mr. Stalin recalled that he had spoken about the AIADMK’s links to the accused in the case when he was the Opposition Leader and Edappadi K. Palaniswami was the Chief Minister of the State. “We said that the people of Pollachi were witnesses to the actions of the previous regime,” he said, adding that he had promised all the accused would be brought to justice.
When asked about the Kodanad dacoity-cum-murder case, Mr. Stalin said the persons responsible for that would also be punished. He said it was evident to the people of Tamil Nadu why Mr. Palaniswami had met Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Mr. Stalin noted that while Mr. Palaniswami claimed he had sought funds from the Centre for the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA) and the metro project, the people of the State were aware of the “lies” behind those claims.
Mr. Stalin interacted with children and members of the public while exercising at the HADP Ground. He was joined by the Nilgiris Lok Sabha MP A. Raja.
