Legendary nightlife hotspot Mykonos is among 80 Greek tourist islands that will soon be declared Covid-safe thanks to vaccinations. But reopening the island's club scene will be a test of its ability to keep the virus at bay.
Mykonos, Greece (CNN) — In Greece's best-known party island, white houses, blue shutters and scarlet bougainvillea all glimmer in the sun. Two weeks after the country's official tourist season was declared open, everything is silent except for the work of bringing the place back to life. In the main town's maze-like alleyways, where during the busy summer months social distancing is easier said than done, work crews paint luxury shops. If all goes well, they will soon again be the backdrop of thousands of Instagram photos.
