
Govt. to roll out a slew of aid, job schemes on Women’s Day

Andhra Pradesh government launches programs for Women's Day, including financial support, entrepreneurship opportunities, and digital initiatives for women.

The State government has lined up a series of programmes coinciding with Women’s Day on Saturday. The government will roll out schemes and programmes aimed at the development of women in the State.
The State government will enter into an agreement with Flipkart, MS Swaminathan Foundation, Center for Collective Development, Rapido, HomeTriangle etc. in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at a programme at Markapuram in Prakasam district.
Mr. Naidu will also speak on the State government’s decision to provide gratuity benefitting 55,607 Anganwadi workers and 48,909 helpers. Each worker will receive between ₹1.79 lakh and ₹2.32 lakh, and helpers will receive between ₹1.09 lakh and ₹1.41 lakh. The government will bear an annual expense of ₹17.73 crore for this.
The Chief Minister will release gratuity for ASHA workers. The gratuity will be implemented for retired and deceased ASHA workers from June 2024. A total of ₹1.90 crore will be released for those who have retired since last June.
Mr. Naidu will distribute bank loans amounting to ₹645.52 crore to 7,471 beneficiaries under MEPMA. A total of ₹1,826.43 crore will be sanctioned under the Bank Linkage Productive Loans Scheme. A cheque for ₹1,000 crore will be issued for productive loans under the Stree Nidhi programme.
Loans for 1,000 Women through PM Vishwakarma Scheme will provided. Loans up to ₹1 lakh will be provided to 1,000 women through this scheme.
