Government under-reporting COVID-19 death figures, says Palaniswami

The Leader of the Opposition said there were long queues seen at crematoriums but the reported figures were low; he also denied charges that the AIADMK government had failed to control the spread of the virus
Leader of the Opposition Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Friday charged that the State government was under-reporting deaths due to COVID-19 and said that the public would become aware of this only if transparent data was provided. The AIADMK co-coordinator visited the Edappadi government hospital and inspected facilities for COVID-19 treatment. He also provided relief material to sanitary workers.More Related News
Around 440 MBBS graduates of 2021 are not required to undergo one year of compulsory rural service as per the bond signed by them while joining the medical course through government-quota seats in 2015 as the High Court of Karnataka has said the law, enacted in 2012 for mandatory rural service, remained unenforced for 10 years as it was published in the official gazette only in July 2022.
