'Gotcha Hat': An oral history of the press conference that changed the face of Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul

Jake Paul, Logan's younger brother, injected himself into some serious drama in the build up to Sunday's PPV event
It will go down as one of the most bizarre media fiascos in recent memory yet it's hard to discount just how much the brief skirmish known virally as "Gotcha Hat" is responsible for the worldwide level of interest in Sunday's Showtime PPV exhibition match between YouTube star Logan Paul and retired pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather. The incident in question took place at a May 6 press conference to hype the fight, dubbed "Bragging Rights," inside Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, when Jake Paul, the younger brother of Logan (0-1), seized the headlines by grabbing a white baseball cap inscribed with "TBE" in red letters off the head of Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs) and attempted to run away. The subsequent brawl saw Mayweather's security team swarm upon Jake, who claimed to have taken a punch to the face as payback for his larceny attempt.More Related News
