Gold smuggler arrested by ED while attending wedding in Pune

The ED has arrested a man who has been allegedly involved in smuggling and diversion of duty-free fold. He was nabbed while attending a wedding in Pune.

The Enforcement Directorate has arrested an alleged gold smuggler, who has been absconding for last 6 months, officials said. Sanjay Agarwal, who has been allegedly involved in smuggling and diversion of duty-free gold, was nabbed from Pune’s Amby Valley City while he was attending a wedding.

The accused had been on the run for more than six months and non-bailable warrant (NBW) was issued by the court against him in April this year. His anticipatory bail application was also rejected by the Calcutta High Court earlier this month.
