Giants strike deal with first-rounder Kadarius Toney before minicamp
NY Post
The Giants reached a deal with first-round wide receiver Kadarius Toney on Thursday, ensuring all of their draft picks will be under contract before the team’s mandatory minicamp next week.
Toney and the Giants agreed to terms on a four-year, $13.7 million contract with a team option for a fifth year, according to a source. His signing bonus is $7.3 million. All rookie contracts are fully guaranteed and the amount is slotted based on draft position. Once Toney officially signs the contract, the Giants will have all six of their draft picks signed. The team has a mandatory three-day minicamp beginning Tuesday.
SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.

Wednesday was another positive day at Yankees camp. For the first time since March 6, 2025 — an outing in which he knew “something wasn’t right,” which began a weeks-long saga that ended on the operating table for Tommy John surgery — Gerrit Cole was back on a mound and facing hitters in game action.
