Giants’ Joe Judge excited about ‘normal’ rookie minicamp
NY Post
Joe Judge was talking about the return of preseason games, after a one-year, pandemic-triggered hiatus, when he got to the heart of the matter, in terms of moving closer to a return to the way it is supposed to be during the team-building period of the offseason.
“These are valuable experiences that we have to really, really understand and value based on what we missed last year as a league,’’ Judge said. “I’m looking forward to getting the guys going and having a quote-unquote normal preseason this year. That’s something we’re definitely looking forward to.” One more step toward normalcy takes place this weekend, when Judge oversees a three-day rookie minicamp, live and in person, at the Giants’ practice and training facility.
SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.

Wednesday was another positive day at Yankees camp. For the first time since March 6, 2025 — an outing in which he knew “something wasn’t right,” which began a weeks-long saga that ended on the operating table for Tommy John surgery — Gerrit Cole was back on a mound and facing hitters in game action.
