Giants could offer redemption for Gabe Davis as Jaguars dump $39 million receiver
NY Post
A transaction out of Jacksonville could have ramifications for the Giants with the Jaguars release Wednesday morning of wide receiver Gabe Davis.
Giants general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll have strong ties to Davis from their shared time together with the Bills.
The Giants did not select a wide receiver in last month’s NFL draft and, before that, did not bring in any high-profile free agents at the position.
So, in the unending quest to improve the roster, Davis should be considered a viable option for the Giants.
Davis was a fourth-round pick out of Central Florida in 2020, when Schoen was Bills assistant general manager to Brandon Beane and Daboll was the offensive coordinator.
Schoen played an instrumental role in the selection of Davis, gaining intel from then-UCF head coach Josh Heupel and meshing that information with what Daboll wanted for the passing attack.

SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.
