George Kittle inks $76 million extension after 49ers contract drama
NY Post
George Kittle is staying in San Francisco for the foreseeable future.
The 49ers locked down the veteran All-Pro tight end with a four-year, $76.4 million contract extension that includes $40 million guaranteed.
Kittle, 31, who’s played his entire career in San Francisco after being drafted in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, shared the news first with Will Compton and Taylor Lewan’s “Bussin With The Boys” podcast.
Last week, Kittle disputed a report by The Athletic that he was in the midst of a holdout over contract-related issues with the 49ers.
However, He did not show up for the team’s voluntary offseason activities.
The six-time Pro Bowler was entering the final year of his previous deal he signed in 2020, which made him the highest-paid NFL tight end ever at the time.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.

Wednesday was another positive day at Yankees camp. For the first time since March 6, 2025 — an outing in which he knew “something wasn’t right,” which began a weeks-long saga that ended on the operating table for Tommy John surgery — Gerrit Cole was back on a mound and facing hitters in game action.
