Gallup said the percentage of U.S. adults who consider themselves part of the LGBTQ+ community has more than doubled since the organization first asked about sexual orientation and transgender identity in 2012. She is a native of Massachusetts and is based in Orlando, Florida.
The current figure is up from 5.6% in 2020, and 3.5% in 2012, Gallup’s first year of measuring sexual orientation and transgender identity. Story tips and ideas can be sent to sarah.rumpf@fox.com and on X: @s_rumpfwhitten.
