The south lane and shoulder remain closed at Mattagami Reserve Road north of Gogama, about 10 kilometres south of Mattagami First Nation Road, as a result.
A transport truck crashed on June 19 and the ministry's spills action centre was alerted, the ministry of transportation confirmed.
"The spill consisted of an unconfirmed amount of motor oil that was being transported by a tractor-trailer as well as some diesel fuel from the truck's saddle tanks," a ministry of environment spokesperson told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca in an email Wednesday morning.
"The spilled motor oil and diesel was contained and immediately recovered by a clean-up contractor using a vacuum truck."
An environmental consultant has been hired by the trucking company to oversee the removal and disposal of the contaminated soil from the site, the ministry confirmed.
