A 17-year-old couldn’t believe what he found in the trunk of his mom’s car in Bardstown, Kentucky.
Evan Herron and his older brother, Skylar Herron, 21, have always been close, but Skylar’s service as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps had kept them apart. Since enlisting, Skylar had only been home twice, and the last visit had been a sad one following the death of their father.

But finally, Skylar got the chance to come back again — and he secretly teamed up with his mom, Tara, to pull off a surprise.
When Tara asked Evan to grab something from the trunk of her car, the teenager had no idea what was coming. He opened it — and found someone inside. Startled, Evan jumped back and screamed before realizing it was Skylar. Moments later, his brother climbed out of the trunk, and the two shared an emotional hug.
