Four arrested for trying to smuggle gold out of Qatar

Doha: Al Shamal Security Department arrested four suspects after they tried to smuggle gold out of the country illegally by converting it into powder form.

The department received information about a gang working to smuggle gold abroad and by intensifying the search and investigation, they managed to apprehend the first accused. On interrogation, he confessed and directed the officers to the rest of the accused, who were of Asian nationality, and were caught in possession of gold bars.
