Fox News
The final monkey who escaped from a Mississippi highway crash has been rescued and named Forrest, who is now living safely at Popcorn Park Animal Refuge in New Jersey.
Alexandra Koch is a Fox News Digital journalist who covers breaking news, with a focus on high-impact events that shape national conversation.
Due to conflicting statements about the monkeys' conditions, the Jasper County Sheriff's Office fatally shot five of the animals, with 13 remaining caged. She has covered major national crises, including the L.A. wildfires, Potomac and Hudson River aviation disasters, Boulder terror attack, and Texas Hill Country floods.
Three others escaped, two of whom were shot by local residents within a week after the crash.
