A close aide of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh is under investigation by the Income Tax department's Benami section.

Recently, a show-cause notice was issued to Jitendra Navlani alias Jeetu Navlani and his wife Bhumika Puri and their company named Bonanza Fashion Merchants Pvt Ltd. The notice was issued by IT officials as they found during the investigation of the company owned by Navlani and his wife that it was a shell entity with no real business and was a Benami owner of a flat in Pune district under the Prohibition of Benami Property Transaction Act (PBPT),1988.
