All five MLC candidates elected unopposed under MLA quota in Telangana, Congress secures three seats, CPI one and BRS party secures one seat in the MLC elections.
All the five candidates who filed nominations for the MLC elections under the MLAs quota were declared unanimously elected as there were just five nominations for the five vacancies and no one withdrew the nomination.
While Vijayashanti, Addanki Dayakar and Shankar Nayak declared elected belong to the Congress party, Nellakanti Satyam was nominated by the CPI, and Dasoju Sravan by the BRS. They were all unanimously declared elected by the returning officer, Upender, who handed over the authorisation certificates to them.
The ruling Congress secured four seats with the CPI being its ally while the opposition BRS party could get only one seat. The BRS had four members whose term ended leading to vacancies for the election of the above members.
The BRS despite having 38 members (out of these 10 defected to the Congress) did not field a candidate for the second seat making it easy for the ruling party and its ally.

The silent reading movement in the Mylapore-Mandaveli-RA Puram area showed up first at Nageswara Rao Park around two years ago, with modest ambitions, when Balaji launched it along with other reading enthusiasts from the region. This initiative has now moved parks, and seems to set to get entrenched in one. Due to renovation work at Nageswara Park, the reading session became irregular. With the Nageswara Rao park work gaining more surface area, it had to be shifted elsewhere. And it seems set to continue with a newly discovered green patch in RK Nagar in the Sundays to follow.
