On Saturday morning, Fisheries Department officials visited all fishing villages in Karaikal, Mayiladuthurai and Nagapattinam, issuing warnings to community leaders about rough seas ahead of Cyclone Fengal, which crossed the coast on Saturday. Fishermen were advised to stay ashore and secure their boats, nets, and other belongings.
